Bizarre Vehicle Accident Kills Three In China (WARNING: GRAPHIC)

Chinese Bikers Killed In Bizarre Car Crash

A tragic video of a bizarre car crash that killed three people in China in late August 2011 has gone viral.

The footage, which aired on a Mandarin-language newscast, was taken by a traffic camera in the southeastern city of Fuqing just after 5 a.m. on August 22, 2011.

According to a Chinese news report, it shows a deadly collision in which a car hits a guard rail, flips over and skids into two motorcycles, one of which was carrying a couple.

The Huffington Post consulted Mandarin speakers who confirmed that the newscast states that the three people on the motorcycles were killed in the crash. The fate of the car’s driver is unclear.

WARNING: THE VIDEO BELOW CONTAINS A GRAPHIC DEATH SCENE

The video was posted to the Internet video forum LiveLeak on May 7, 2012. Within a day it was reposted to YouTube and several other sites, often without context and including erroneous information.

For example, several sources say that only two motorcyclists were stuck and killed, failing to account for a rider on the back of the vehicle on the left.

HuffPost contacted experts at the California Highway Patrol, who would not comment directly on the video since it occurred in China, which is well out of their jurisdiction.

However, a CHP spokesperson indicated that had this crash occurred in California, it may have been reported as an improper turn. Although “without knowing whether the driver was under the influence or not, it’s hard to say for certain,” she said.

According to the CHP spokesperson, improper turns are “listed among the top three primary collision factors, year after year.”

Analysis of CHP data by The Huffington Post revealed that improper turns accounted for more than 19 percent of all motor vehicle fatalities in California between 2005 and 2009.

Authorisation process for Clinical Commissioning Groups issued

A letter and a set of slides issued describe the authorisation process for clinical commissioning groups (CCGS) and have been sent to primary care cluster chief executives and local authority chief executives.

CCGs are due to come into statutory form from April 2013 and will need to be formally authorised. Local government and their partners in health and wellbeing boards have an important role in the process.

BMW Sued For Causing 2 Year Long Erection

British medical site uk-med.co.uk report on the unusual story involving a motorbike seat, BMW and a 2 year long erection (Pun Intended)

Surely this months most unusual story:

Most men dream of maintaining an erection, but as Mr Henry Wolf found, it continually lasting for nearly two years is a nightmare.

Mr Wolf from California embarked on a four hour round trip on his 1993 BMW motorcycle in May, 2010. The motorcycle was not the fitted with the original seat, the seat in question was manufactured by Corbin-Pacific, but BMW are also being sued.

He claims that after the journey he developed Priapism, a condition that is diagnosed if an erection continues beyond four hours, for no normal reasons. There are two types of priapism, high and low flow, only 10-20% is attributed to high flow.

Low flow is blood not going back into body and high flow is due to a bypassing vascular problem. Some medical conditions can cause it, including ED treatments such as intra-cavernous injections.

Vernon Bradley, his attorney said “It’s very embarrassing, and all kind of problems developed. He had to reconfigure his clothing, and going to the bathroom was a problem.” This was in an interview that Mr Bradley had with ABC News.

His condition has reversed recently and Mr Wolf can no longer able to get or maintain an erection. In his search for help with this ailment Mr Wolf has consulted many doctors in regard to his plight. They are in agreement that it was a combination of the long motorbike jaunt and the dynamics of the seat. At the University of Miami’s urology department, Dr. Ramgopal Satyanarayana said he had never heard of priapism induced by a motorbike saddle. On rare occasions it could be caused by injury, but generally it is a result of using well known ED medications like Cialis or Viagra, also antipsychotics. “For treatment, we tell them to take pseudoephedrine, and if that doesn’t bring it down, we actually inject medications that can arrest the amount of blood coming in. If that doesn’t work, we have to operatively reduce it,” said Dr Satyanarayana.
